Haddington Cricket Club
HCC was founded in 1877, making us the oldest cricket club in East Lothian, and one of the longest running continuous sports teams in the region. Contrary to popular (English) belief, competitive amateur cricket is strong all across Scotland. Yes, despite the weather.
The club plays in Division 3 of the East of Scotland Cricket Association League, and has done so since 2007, with the proud record of never forfeiting a fixture or being relegated during that time. Finishing 4th in 2019, the club membership is as strong as ever, with 20+ fully paid up adult members. League fixtures are played on Saturdays from May through until the end of August, 40 overs a side. We also play Last Man Stands T20 during midweek, and are somehow one of the top teams in Scotland in that format.
All new players are welcome. We don’t currently have a junior section, though we are working with local partners to restart one (get in touch if interested in helping with this, or any other aspect of the club). Haddington is a family friendly club with children, parents & grandparents gathering on the sidelines to support us. Saturday cricket is generally suitable for those boys & girls aged 12+
Sponsorship enquiries please use our contact form, we hope to partner with fantastic local businesses, such as our friends at the Tyneside Tavern.
We’re very keen to begin post-season touring again as we have done in years past to Yorkshire, Lancashire & Cumbria. We’d also be delighted to host & help co-ordinate fixtures for any sides keen to try some Scottish cricket.
